When I talked about Rome don't get me wrong. Rome eventually did go after Christians, they persecuted them. Just not during the time of Jesus. Years later Rome saw them as a threat to it's power. And the word Christian came later too. It means followers of the Christ.
And about the importance of faith. In Hebrew 11:6 nv it says: "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, & that He is a re warder of those who diligently seek Him." And in Ephesians 2:8, 9 nv it says: For by grace you have been saved through faith, & that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God, Not of works, lest anyone should boast."
